Facing the Cornavirus Crisis: We're With You

We’re all living in unprecedented and uncertain times: none of us have experienced anything like the current Covid-19 catastrophe that has now taken over our everyday lives, and to be honest, it’s scary.

And why shouldn’t we admit that?

We Brits are famed for our stiff upper lip, but our lives are being turned upside down in a way no one could have predicted – schools are shut down, parents are struggling to juggle work and home life, businesses (ours, and possibly yours, included) are scrambling to protect employees whilst safeguarding futures. Pubs, clubs, restaurants. Theatres, cafés, holiday parks, and so many more independent traders are facing the possibility of months of trade isolation.

It’s an absolutely terrifying prospect.

What we need to remember however, is that us humans are a resilient bunch – throughout history, we’ve survived war, famine, epidemics, trauma and tragedy of all kinds, and we have always come back fighting. If we continue to stick together, we will come through this too. And although it may seem like we’re isolated, we’re all still connected – bless the internet! – and we are all in this together.

In the meantime, we need to be disciplined, we need to make the most of the resources available to us and we need to focus on opportunities – because while the world may seem uncontrollable, it’s crucial that we concentrate on what we actually can control – and that’s how we’ll come out ahead.

So, for now, let’s do what us Brits are known for: keep calm & carry on.

We may have to catch up on some things, but we have no doubt we’ll be back soon, stronger than ever.

Remember to stay home, stay safe and look after each other.
